Millions of dollars are spent each year on vitamins and other supplements.  Most people know that they do not eat as healthy as they should, so they are willing to spend money on a quick and easy way to achieve better health.  There are more products on the market now than ever before; most of them claim to be that missing ingredient that will bring a healthier and longer life.Over the years, I have tried many of these products including vitamins, mineral drinks, exotic fruit juices, bee pollen, protein powders, wheat germ, health bars, herbs, teas and more.  I can’t say that I ever felt any significant benefit after taking any of them.  I am not saying there are no benefits; I am just saying that I could not feel any difference.After 25 years of experimenting, I have finally found what I believe is the most beneficial way to supplement a healthy diet.  It is the fresh juice of carrots and other vegetables that are extracted with a juicer.  I usually drink two to three 10-ounce servings of fresh vegetable juice daily.Here are some reasons why I believe that juicing is the best way to supplement your diet. ·        Raw vegetables are the perfect source of nutrition, but the best way to obtain the nutrition from them is not in eating them raw.  For example, when you eat a raw carrot, the body assimilates only 1% to 35% of the nutrients as it completes its digestive process for solid foods.  About 65% of the nutrients are lost through the digestive process.  Juice does not go through that same long energy consuming digestive process because when the juice is extracted from the carrot, the pulp is removed and only the juice and almost 100% of the nutrients remain.   This means that almost 100% of the nutrients pass directly into the blood within minutes after consumption, almost like intravenous feeding.  ·        Fresh vegetable juices provide us with concentrated building materials so that the immune system is restored and the body can heal itself.·        When the immune system is restored, it carries out its responsibilities of looking for the troubled spots throughout the body and starting the healing process where it is needed.  Numerous studies show that juicing has proven to be an extremely effective means of helping the preventive and healing processes for a wide variety of ailments including stomach pain, colon problems, heart disease, cancer, constipation, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, and migraine headaches.·        Vegetable juice contains vitamins B, C, E, K and beta-carotene along with calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and many other minerals and trace minerals.·        The nutrients in carrots and other vegetables help strengthen the abdominal wall and cleanse the liver.·        Vegetable juice helps to lower cholesterol by removing bile and fats from the liver.·        Vegetable juice will help you to lose weight by naturally suppressing your appetite. The hunger pains will go away when your cells, which are starving for nutrition, become satisfied. ·        Fresh vegetable juices promote healthy skin and complexion.·        Dr. Lorraine Day was completely healed of breast cancer within 11/2 years on a diet plan that included whole foods, daily prayer with Bible reading and 13 freshly made juices daily. Sc. was seriously ill in his early 50’s.  He changed his diet to raw foods with an abundance of vegetable juices and recovered from his illness.  Then he lived a vigorous life to the age of 117; he died in his sleep slightly before his 118th birthday.  (I recommend his book, “Fresh Vegetables and Fruit Juices”) ·        Paul Bragg, the author of many books on health and nutrition, was dying of tuberculosis as a teenager.  He changed his lifestyle and began to eat a predominately living food diet that included fresh juices and he began to do abundant physical exercises.  Not only was he healed, but also in his 20’s, he became the second strongest man in the world.  In his 90’s, he was still surfing, jogging and doing a worldwide speaking ministry.  He drowned in a surfing accident just short of his 100th birthday. ·        At the Gershin Institute in Tijuana, Mexico, terminally ill cancer patients have been healed through a program that includes drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of carrot juice plus four green vegetable juices daily. ·        Jay Kordich, also known as the “juice man”, was seriously ill with cancer over fifty years ago.  Through the liberal use of raw vegetable juices, he was healed of cancer.  Today, in his 80’s, he is still going strong. ·        Health guru, Jack Lalayne, has been juicing since he was 15 years old; he is now a healthy 93. Why juice? Because your health can go from bad to good, your energy level can increase and you can begin to live a healthier and longer life!
