T Headquartered on the courthouse lawn in Rockville, Indiana, since 1957, is food served by many of the non-profit organizations of the county, a large tent and streets around the courthouse filled with crafters and vendors open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Free entertainment will be scheduled on the south side of the courthouse throughout each day. The nearby turn of the century Billie Creek Village, just a couple miles east of Rockville features thirty historic buildings and 3 covered bridges and adds a lot of nostalgia to the autumn celebration.For more information visit www.parkecounty.com. Tuttle Orchards Fall Fun The Agrimaze, a three and a half acre cornstalk maze, teaches all about agriculture while explorers try to find their way through to the end. This maze, which is open through October 19th, will take 30-45 minutes to complete, and is best suited for second grade and up. Cost is $1.50 per guest. Tuttle’s Activity Center is in the fenced-in country farm play area with a sunflower maze, straw maze, sand box, farm animals to view, pedal tractors and more. Children two years old to second grade can enjoy it through October 19th. Cost is $1.50 per child. Hiking at Fort Harrison State Park Autumn is a great season at the park. Park patrons may also enjoy the park all year around including the winter season at Fort Harrison State Park Landscape and history blend in a unique setting in northeast Indianapolis at Fort Harrison State Park. The 1700-acre park features walking and jogging trails, picnic sites, fishing access to Fall Creek and two national historic districts. Visitors may enjoy a stop at the park's interpretive center to view exhibits and ask questions of park naturalists. Enjoy picnicking, scenic trails, bicycle trail, fishing, saddle barn with horse trail rides, hayrides and fishing and great family fun! It’s Riley Festival Time Enjoy one of the largest craft festivals in the state of Indiana with designated areas for food, commercial and flea market booths, plus Fine Arts, Home Arts/Quilt, Photography, Poster, and decorated pumpkin shows October 4th-7th. The Riley Festival follows years of tradition by celebrating the birthday of the “Hoosier Poet”, James Whitcomb Riley.
Riley Festival is a showcase for a wide variety of talent that runs continuously Friday through Sunday. There is no admission charge to the Riley Festival. his year's Parke County annual Indiana Covered Bridge Festival runs from October 12-21 and features thirty-one covered bridges in the county. Festival activities include eating local food, shopping and guided bus tours, each of which visits about 5 bridges.
